Dante and Lauren, still on the run and in hiding from the Ministry, had Apparated into the Amazon rainforest in Brazil. The air was cool and it was dark for mid-afternoon. The canopy created by the huge trees let in no light and the many animals that resided in the dense forest were disturbed by the sudden crack and appearance of two humans.
Dante looked around. The trees were pretty close together, but he was able to conjure a tent for them. The tent was obviously enchanted so they had more room than they should, and he placed some deadly protective curses around the surrounding area. He couldn't afford for them to be caught. Not that the Aurors would necessarily win if he was discovered. Chances were he would.
Entering the tent, he sat down in a chair and looked up to Lauren, smiling.

Lauren tossed her bag into the corner of the tent, pulling her hair into a ponytail. There were still quite a few things to do. Noticing Dante come in brought a smile to her face as she pulled off her jacket. "Hey you," She added, making her way over to him. Taking a seat, she let her eyes wander around what would be home for a short while. It wasn't too bad.. The rainforest was nice background noise. "Not too bad.." Lauren commented, leaning in to kiss him briefly.

He returned her kiss, his hand gently placed on the snall of her back. Breaking loose slowly, he relaxed into his chair. The rainforest was a calming environment, not that he needed one to maintain his cool.
There hadn't been much drama lately. The last time he had met up with an Auror was two months ago. And that Auror had met an end in the woods of Northern England. Stupid guy, trying to take him down on his own. Hell, five on one against him wasn't great odds.
"Good," he said, smiling at Lauren. He was always warm and genuine when they were alone together. He reckoned if it wasn't for her he'd have went on a killing spree at the Ministry. Which, come to think about it, wouldn't have been the worst thing he could do. But it wouldn't be the smartest. There was time for that action later on.

Slowly standing up, she made her way to her bag, pulling off her robes and slipping on a pair of shorts and a tanktop. They would be here for a bit, at least until tomorrow, so she might as well settle in.
Making her way back, Lauren sighed, softly grabbing his hand. Even if they were in the middle of the rain forest, on the run, and hiding from the ministry, she didn't care. As long as she was with him, she felt safe.

He smiled as he watched her change. She still had the same figure she had had back when they had first met, ten years ago. And that was definetely a positive thing.
Letting their fingers interlock, he looked into her eyes. The same eyes he had first saw in the Slytherin Common Room when he was onl 15 years old. She had used that time to have a little look into his mind using Legilimency. She couldn't do that now, but it wouldn't matter if she did. He had nothing to hide.
"I think we should get a permanent residence," he said airily, his thumb softly stroking the back of her hand.

Lauren turned so her back was against his chair, her legs resting in front of her. She softly squeezed his hand a bit, pondering his comment.
"And how could we manage that?" She asked. They were on the run from the ministry. Getting a house wouldn't be the easiest thing for them. Or would it? Lauren tilted her head back a bit so she could see him. His eyes still held the scars she knew so well; the opening topic of discussion many times for them.

He raised his feet up onto a small footstool as he sunk into the chair. His hand squeezed hers gently, like he had done many times before. He let his mind wander back to the times they had spent together in the lst 10 years. They were good times. Not that he lived in the past.
"Well, I'm sure we could make it Ministry-proof." They would just need to acquire a house. He thought of Scotland, and the area he had stayed as a child. Actually, that may work perfectly.

"Really." She said, though it wasn't meant to be a question. Lauren thought about it for a moment. Sure it would be nice, finally getting a home for just the two of them. It would halfway normalize their life. But was it the best for them?
Either way, the thought of it brought a smile to her face.

"Yes," he said softly. "I know just the place." He thought of it briefly. Back in Scotland. Back home. Where he had grown up as a wizard, and where he was orphaned after his parents were both killed. Good and bad times.
"But let's stay here for a while," he added. The Amazon rainforest was oddly intriguing to him, and he enjoyed being in there. Especially with Lauren.

"And where might that be?" Lauren questioned, propping up a knee. It was oddly silent here, in the rainforest, compared to what she was used to. It was a nice change, though she couldn't take too much of a liking to it. Not when she moved so often.
Lauren absently smiled as he mentioned staying there for a while. Not that a while was very long to them. Either way she might as well set up, just in case for once a while was longer then a few days.
Slowly standing up, Lauren placed her hands on either side of his chair, leaning in front of him. "I love you," She whispered with a slight smile, leaning in to meet his lips briefly before pulling back and stalking off to unpack her bag.

"My old home," he said softly, aware that she knew that to be in Scotland. Though she didn't know exactly where. He had only mentioned it briefly in conversation before.
He smiled against her lips and then watched as she went to unpack, slightly disappointed she had stopped. "And I you," he said, smiling. He stood up and walked over to her, placing a hand gently on her back momentarily, before going about helping her get out thier things.

Lauren turned slightly as he walked up behind her, offering him a smile. She slowly unfolded a few blankets, laying them out on the ground. Reaching inside her bag, she pulled out a small pile of clothes, setting the stack on the ground. It seemed like she had just gone through this process. In fact she had, many times.
With a smile, she paused, looking back to meet his gaze. Yawning, Lauren placed her wand on the small table and took a seat on the blankets, offering for him to do the same.

He sat down beside her on the blanket. He let his arm slip around her waist as they sat on the ground, in a tent, in the middle of the Amazon. It was weird to be here now, but it was also fun. He didn't mind being on the run. He was rather good at it. And Lauren was there as well.
"Do you mind staying in Scotland?" he asked her. He obviously wouldn't drag her off to stay there if she didn't want to. He could happily continue living like this for a while.

Lauren sighed, rolling over so she was facing him. "I'm in the middle of the rain forest aren't I?" She asked with a slight laugh, which felt foreign to her. Propping her head up on her elbow, she continued.
"Course I don't mind. It'll be nice to stay in one place for a while. A first.." A smile played her lips as she thought about it. Her own house where she could unpack her stuff and leave it there. Kind of like what Hogwarts had always been for her, until she lost that too.

Like she had done, he propped himself up on one elbow, and they lay there on the blanket, facing each other. They were only about a foot apart. He smiled back at her. She didn't seem to mind being on the run, which was good. He didn't want to have to do this sort of thing on his own.
"That's good," he said, thinking all the while about where exactly in Scotland they would go. "I know just the place," he added, placing his free hand on her waist.
