The light's flickering finally dimmed, and went out, leaving them sitting in pitch black darkness. It was a bit disconcerting of a situation to be in really
"He's still locked in Azkaban. I don't need to make deals with the devil to ensure my protection. Though I suspect that is why you came here. You seek a non-violent end to this war, do you not? Very well. I want to be placed as the Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot. Between yourself and Bellatrix I am sure you will be able to manage it. In return, I will hunt down everybody I let out, and cease hostilities against you and your family. Yes I am aware...that is blackmail

To her annoyance she flinched slightly when the lights disappeared, though until now she hadn't felt fear, she felt it now. It was strange because she still wasn't afraid of Cassandra, she was afraid of the dark and what might be hiding out there, threatening her and her child. Taking a deep and slightly shuddering breath she stared at where she assumed Cassandra was.
"Do you honestly expect that to happen? I will of course relay your request, but Bellatrix is as intent on a violent end to this war as most of your followers," her voice was as tight as her mouth as she spoke quietly, it was true they would be able to instate Cassandra with ease, but the Ministry would be outraged... giving in to terrorists?

"Honestly? Maybe not. But think of it Gabriella! The Minister of Magic is a paper foil...she hasn't acted against me yet, and doubtless she will be excited to actually do so. If I sat on the Wizengamot, I could manipulate her so easily. I'd much rather wage a shadow war then to outright kill everybody in my way. Far less messy that way. There is only one alternative.
She was sure Gabriella didn't have her defenses raised, and so attempted to flood her mind with images of mangled corpses and haunted eyes, all of people she loved and cared about

Sighing lightly she shook her head, a surprising smile faint upon her lips. "Cassandra..." pausing again she almost laughed, "You have just told me if we give into your needs you will still continue to try and purge the earth of sin and inpurities, "It leaves me with little incentive if I am perfectly honest," a small piece inside of her made her clutch her stomach and urged her to make some kind of deal for her own childs life. To her it was worth so much more than the twins, and it always would.
Whilst her thoughts were elsewhere she felt the attack on her mind like a kick in the stomach, and her mouth dropped open in shock as her breath escaped her. The mental images of her family, lying dead and mangled terrified her enough that it took her a few moments to compose herself and block them out. It was little surprise that Bellatrix Lestrange's daughter had been taught well in both Occlumency and Legilimency, though Gabriella had never thought she would need it so much. Blinking back tears she stared at Cassandra for a few more minutes. "I have been foolish Cassandra, through out all of this, I have never given up hope on you... and here I find you, more tainted than I could have imagined."
