"I know a few good Healers at St. Mungo's,";"I can have them look at this. I know Aurors are prone to scars, but..."
Angurth grimaced a bit at her otherwise kind proposal of letting a healer of St. Mungo's take a look at the wound. "Been there, done that," he said simply. "I actually was there today. The pain has been increasing with time, and they still don't know what's wrong with it." He regarded his right hand in wonder for a while. "By their opinion I'll either die slowly as the... whatever, spell, curse... that caused this will slowly get stronger and spread. On the other hand I might also 'just' end up with a dead hand -" He looked at her for a moment, realizing how much details he had been giving away to what one would call a 'stranger'. He grinned vaguely. "If that happen, then I might as well get a hook instead and travel the seven seas, eh? Yo-oh..."
"If you need a job - a more well-paying job for that matter - I can persuade the Minister to hire you as my personnel. I have none, so it's pretty tiring for me."
Persuade? Now that was a very interesting way for her to put it. If she was all alone in a department, then there should really be no hesitation and no consideration from the minister's side. Anything else appeared rather amateur-like to Angurth.
For a moment he just regarded her in wonder, trying to make out what to do with her offer. He knew the ministry - if they didn't want him in, then they would just find a good excuse to turn him down.
"But I would understand if you wish to stay in your present position. Spewing toilets are, out of what I've heard, not exactly popular."
He couldn't help but laugh at her next statement. "I guess they aren't," He said and looked into the surface of the table, scratching his chin in wonder. He wanted to accept her offer. He wanted something more interesting - and more important - to do, than just sit idly by at home and write. "That is a very kind offer you got there," He said and looked up again. "One which I might as well give a try - if you need an ex-auror in your staff, that is..."
