"Why on earth would you want that?" The fellow behind the counter was giving Delilah an odd look, and almost seemed to hesitate a moment before fixing it for her
With an exasperated drawn out sigh, she rolled her eyes and exclaimed
"'I don't know, but I want it, so leave me alone.'
With that he scooped out a few scoops of vanilla ice cream, placed pickles over it, and then poured vinegar across the top. Her eyes followed his hands, and she could of just leaped across the counter and munched on it right then, but she managed to contain herself and dig in her pocket for the correct amount

The day had been an uneventful one, and had it not been for this fact, he wouldn't have allowed himself such frivolant pleasure time, but as it was, he was hungry.
Pushing open the door of the small ice cream parlour, after pushing through the throng sat outside, enjoying the sunshine, he dusted down his clothes as if by touching the people he had been tainted. Smirking again he joined the line, and saw a vaguely familiar face, though it had been a long time since he had set his eyes on it. Smirking wider at the woman's order, he laughed finally, "Pregnant Delilah Malfoy?" Of course he wouldn't knowi f Delilah had a spouse, so he used the name he had always known her as.
Though he was the son of one of one of Lucius Malfoys closest friends, he was closer to the age of his granddaughter, Even being the youngest Rosier child to date.

She was naturally defensive of that sort of an assessment. Of course she wasn't, that was the first thing she thought to snap back. But considering a few mitigating factors, her most recent anxiety notwithstanding, it came out more hesitantly then she would of liked
"N..no, of course...not"
Her face was red, flustered that anybody would have the nerve to even ask her that. But as she literally snatched the bowl of ice cream, and plucked up a spoon, it dawned on her that not only had her maiden name been used, it was used with some familiarity
"Oh, little Evy....I guess you haven't heard." She waggled her ring finger as she looked about for table

A laugh bubbled from his lips at the reaction. It seemed women always chose to stick to denial in times like this. It was hardly surprising, most of them were hardly adults themselves, take Delilah, she was only 24, she still dressed like she was 18, and she was here having ice cream instead of doing anything productive or 'grown-up.'
The use of the familiar nickname, made him smirk and shake his head, he had never minded Delilah using it, if he had chose to oppose it, she would have used it more, and it would probably have caught on if he hadn't embraced it. "Heard? Don't tell me there was a man out there willing to make an honest women of you?" His voice sounded genuinely surprised, but his eyes were teasing behind the surprise. He of course hadn't been told, his fathers talks with Lucius usually consisted of bitter insults about muggles and 'mudbloods' nowadays, it was hardly surprising his granddaughters nuptials hadn't been relayed back to Evan.

"Yes as a matter of fact I'm a Bradford now, which as you may have put two and two toghether, swift as you've always been, makes me the wife of none other then the Head of the Auror Department."
She postively beamed at this. She had always been overtly proud of Aiden's appointment. But that was part of her job right. A sentiment she shrugged her shoulders to
"Why so suprising. I could make a good trophy wife, stay at home, cook...clean, pop out babies. I mean we have been married let's see...almost five years, and I have faithful for most of them"
As much as she loved the small talk, she was dying just holding this delectable yet odd mix of ice cream toppings, so she hurried off to a booth in the corner to dig in. If he wanted to continue the conversation, she wasn't hard to find

At the woman's words he rose his eyebrows, not that he had any idea who this Bradford was, but Delilah seemed to think he should and she seemed to want a reaction from it if the intense smile and the matter of fact attitude was anything to go by.
"Ahh so wife and Mother?" teasing her again, he crossed his eyes and swooned at her in a joking manner "And you so young." Smirking slightly at the typical, 'why are you so surprised that I am a strong woman' speech, he waited for her to be through, but surprisingly he couldn't resist laughing again. "Faithful of most of them? Well what an acheivment Delilah!" He clapped his hands in a sarcastic manner, he had always been one to tease the other 'Death Eater' childrin, some kind of inferiority complex.
When she hurried off he followed her and her strange ice cream lazily, his urge for an ice cream forgotten at the sight of the queue that had formed.

She held her head against her hand, wincing and squinting her eyes from the splitting cold headache she got as she had dug in far too fast. While she was doing this she grabbed up a salt shaker and started showering the ice cream with it, as if the pickles and vingear wasn't already a strange enough amount of sodium
"I....am.....not.....a.....mother"
She had to speak slowly as moved her tongue along the roof of her mouth, trying to warm it up
"Maybe your just jealous you didn't get there first"

Surpressing the urge grimace as the woman showered her food with salt, making the ice cream completely... wrong, in everyway, he instead smiled slightly.
"If you insist love," his voice was the lazy drawl it had always been that when he had been young he had modelled on his Father's. If the woman was indeed pregnant, it wouldn't make any difference, he just enjoyed teasing her, adulthood hadn't changed that. Resting his head in his hand he watched her with a small amused smile curling his lips.
"Well watching you shovel down pickles and ice-cream... I have to admit, you're irresistable," cracking another smile, he tried not to laugh. Of course when he had been younger, Delilah had been his favourite of the group of girls, merely because she wasn't much of a girl, she had always been feisty, all the other girls, her cousin Gabriella for example, who, though she had always been the eye candy of the group, had always given off the air that she was above all the games the others played.

Seemingly satisfied that it was bitter and salty enough now, she shook her head again and rolled her eyes as he toyed with her. She seemed violently opposed to even the notion that she may be pregnant, though he had planted the seeds of doubt in her mind about her being so sure that it was not the case
"This is a perfect normal choice of toppings. Don't you see all the other people in here with it? And yes, I'm well aware of the fact that you obviously find me irresistible, your practically undressing me with your eyes" Of course the impish smile on her face made it pretty obvious that she was either full of it, or full of herself

To humour he even looked around the little parlour as if he expected to see countless other customers with a similar odd choice of topping. Of course there wasnt any and he returned his eyes to her, grinning again. "Ahh yes, I see them as clear as I see my father over their helping a small muggleborn child to buy an ice-cream it can't afford."
"Damn, I was hoping to hide my feelings, your cousin always said I didn't have a chance, not enough drive," laughing lightly he flagged down a waiter who immediately summoned him his drink, which he took a mouthful of gratefully, enjoying the refreshing taste. Holding up his hands in defence he laughed again. "Now I'm never one to undress pregnant women."

"For the tenth time I am -not- pregnant. Well I'm pretty sure anyways....maybe" She rolled her eyes a bit as she went back to the ice cream, wincing as she gave herself another headache "Bloody hell"

"Watch yourself there.... Bradford," he almost laughed but thought against it, didn't want to make a hormonal pregnant woman angry. "So hows the family? I'm guessing you guys have multiplied as usual?" With every new generation of Malfoys, Blacks and Lestranges, some poor muggle born was trembling. No doubt they would terrorise Hogwarts soon enough. Taking another mouthful of his lemonade, he watched her closely, as if he could discern that she was pregnant by just staring at her.

She busied herself with tapping her finger against her temple, as if that would make the headache go away. When it was no longer so bad, she slowed herself down and lazily replied to his question
"I hear from my brother that his wife is expecting. Now I'm sure that was one union you heard about for sure. I've never seen a bigger fuss made over a more self important couple. Gabriella too....though I wonder if the world really needs more Jacksons to go along with her step-daughters. Bella Thorne's girls....little hellions. As for myself well. I....it's not like I was expecting it, or trying for it, it just happened. I find it rather annoying actually"

The fact that he had practically convinced the woman on his own that she was pregnant made him smile. Of course he had heard of Tiberius's union at least, it had been quite doo, Delilah's must have been a more subdued affair anyway. Listening to her lazy voice, he tried to recognise the people, Gabriella was easy she was the lovely Bellatrix Lestrange's daughter after all and had been present in most of his childhood. "Gabriella is pregnant? Ahh more little pretentious kids? I wouldn't have thought she would settle for someone who had already been, shall we say, used?"
Smirking slightly he leaned back, he had equally enjoyed tormenting Gabriella as a child, Delilah had never minded, the girls hadn't been close when they were young, not particularly anyway. "Bella Thorne? No idea, though wasn't she in the Prophet the other day? Something about her losing her mind?" Throughout school he had tried to shy away from alot of the other Death Eater children, the other Slytherins had always treated him as a king, he didn't need the other challenging that role. "Do do you want a boy of a girl?" His grin turned into a laugh at this, he sounded like a woman.

"Believe me, nobody has ever protested Gabby getting on with that Corbin Jackson fellow more the me over the years...well save one, but she doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things. But you know as I get older and more mature...ish, I find that love will make you do crazy things, stupid things even"
She swept her long hair back over her shoulder, and looked a bit lost when he asked her whether she wanted a boy or a girl. She was just coming to grips with the possibility that she may very well be pregnant, so she hadn't even properly thought of such a thing, evidenced by the blank look she gave him before she snapped back to reality from her glassy eyed state
"Whichever one is less of a handful. Oh...I don't know how to be a mother. I had a rotten example"
