The Roleplayer
Your Name: Ashley Johnston
Your Age: Twenty
Gender: Female
Roleplaying Experience: some at Freshstart
How did you find this board?: I was chatting at freshstart and someone told me to go here
The Character:
Full Name: March Rose Almings
Nicknames: umm...anyone have any suggestions?
Age: she'd be 25 now...right?
Gender: Female
Job: I'd like her to have a potions shop in either hogsmeade or diagon alley...but I think I have to ask for that first...it's just that she was so interested in potion making in school...it seems right to have her own a shop like that or something...
Location: if she owned a shop...she'd live either above or behind the shop..if she doesn't own a shop...she'll figure something out...
Bloodlines/Family Information inc. any Background Information (2+ paragraphs): Erkay...it's been awhile since I've written anything about March's background and family. Her father ran out when she was born. Mainly because her mother told him that she was a witch. March's mother then moved to America. March's mother sent her to her grandparents when she was ten so she could prepare to go to Hogwarts. She's a halfblood, but could have wizards on her father's side of the family. She just doesn't know because she still hasn't found her father. Her grandparents both went to Hogwarts and were both in Ravenclaw.
March has no brothers or sisters, her mother never remarried. Although March did always want a sister. March has mixed feelings on marriage, which is why she isn't married. If the opportunity came along, she might not take it. She's just that confused about it.
Physical Description : March has waist length ash/honey blond hair. Her eyes are a strange mixture of blue, grey, and whitish gold that startles anyone who doesn't know her. Her skin is rather pale since she doesn't go outside as often as she should. She stands at 5"9, slightly taller than her mother and grandparents. She also usually walks around with a slightly detached look on her face, as if she is used to people misunderstanding her.
CelebClaim and Picture: Jodhi May...I have the pic at fresh start...do I really need to add it here?
Personality (2+ Paragraphs): March has changed since her years at Hogwarts. She has grown less reserved, she shares her opinions honestly and is not afraid of what people will say to her anymore. She has a certain self confidence that she didn't have ten years ago now that her potions have been recognized as useful and helpful. She still keeps in touch with a few of her classmates and teachers, but she wonders if she should even do that since she is still so socially awkward.
March isn't as self critical, less apt to judge herself too harshly. She is more willing to understand both sides of an argument now that she has realized that there is no right side to any argument. She isn't so softspoken anymore, and she sings almost as often as she talks now. Although she does truly believe that her voice isn't that good, she won't stop singing unless someone tells her to. She figures that if anyone disliked her singing that much, she should stop.
Wand: ( I can't remember my wand...and I think the thread was deleted...so forgive me if this doesn't match the other site.)
Thirteen inches, Rowan, with dragon-heart string. It's slightly burnt at the end, although not as badly as when she was a third year. The wood seems to have been repairing itself slowly since she stirred her potion with her wand that fateful day that she mixed the wrong ingredients.
Patronus: (again...thread was deleted...)
leapord
Present: Right now March is looking to open her own shop to sell her original potions and herbs. She would love to travel, but doesn't have the courage to do so alone. She believes that she would be content with owning her own shop and making a living that way. She also hopes to widen her circle of friends as she should have done years ago.
Future: March hopes that one day she might marry, but that doesn't seem necessary since she is wary of such an institution in the first place. She would love to write a definitive book on potions.
Sample: March sighed wearily as she made her way through the ministry. The building was so large, and she really didn't like crowds. She had come mainly for the permit and license for her potions shop. Not only did she need the permit for the building, but she needed the license to have so many potions and volatile ingredients in such close quarters.
March knew with a certainty that her shop would succeed. There were many witches and wizards that would not, or could not brew such complicated potions. Besides, some of them would make for great pranks. Therefore witches and wizards young and old would come and buy various potions and remedies. For every potion she brewed, she also brewed and antidote for the side effects and outcomes of whatever potion it was a counterpart for.
After numerous hallways and angry glances, ( she had bumped many a passerby with her potions-satchel) she finally reached her destination. She rapped on the door lightly, wondering if her being nervous would be a hindrance to her goals.
The door opened slightly, then wider as a wizened old woman peered out at her. A wide toothy smile graced the woman's face as she held out her hand to shake.
"You are miss Almings, yes?" The woman's question came out in a croak. Suddenly, March wasn't half so nervous as she had previously believed herself to be.
