Nicole was irritated that she had to wait a few minutes for Desiree to arrive. She made a mental note to never arrive extra early, even if she was rather excited. It was an absolutely long time since she and Desiree had spent some time shopping.
She sat in a comfortable, white leather chair that was located by the sunglasses rack. She was mainly glancing at the over-sized section and already picked out some of them to try on. Impatiently, she tapped her fingers on the chair, a habit that she picked up from Adriana.
A pushy sales associate made her way over, but Nicole just waved her away. She just walked in front of her, pretending to admire the sunglasses. Nicole knew that the sales associate was just waiting there until something caught her interest. To the sales associates dismay, Nicole continued to loudly tap her fingers on the leather.
Her eyes shot at the door, then at her clock. It was still ten minutes before four. She decided that Desiree wouldn't be too upset if she was just browsing their selection of sunglasses. Once she stood up, the pushy woman rushed over to her. Nicole studied her name tag and found out that her name was Roberta.
"I'm fine, gorgeous, go serve someone else" she forced the word 'gorgeous' out. Nicole didn't really consider this woman gorgeous. A short, pudgy woman with a bunch of hairs over her lips was not gorgeous. Try freaky.

Desiree pushed open the door to the shop, Chanel sunglasses on. Yes, this was a habit she had gotten from Nicky - and a bit from Addy. They had got her addicted on sunglasses.
She looked around and rolled her eyes. Either Nicky hadn't arrived yet, or she was browsing the sunglasses section. Either way, it wouldn't hurt to check if she was.
She marched towards the sunglasses section, passing a few salespeople who seemed intent on getting her to wear a bit of this and a bit of that and a bit of lame-o whats...
"Nicky - the first time we meet in god-knows how long and you're choosing sunglasses over me already?" Desiree exclaimed, pretending to pout. The pout faded, replaced by a look of mild disgust as she saw the lady with the hair-lip. Ew.

A big smirk erupted on Nicole's face at the sound of the familiar voice. Quickly, she turned around, her ponytail whipping against the sunglasses rack. There was a faint bang, but luckily nothing fell. For some reason, Nicole was addicted to ponytails now. "Yes, gorgeous. Sunglasses aren't as b*tchy"
Obviously, she was joking with that statement. She loved her friend to death; nothing could come between them. Maybe a green lollipop...no, nothing. She waved the sales associate away, trying hard not to burst out in laughter. "I wasn't going to try on anything, sexy. I was simply browsing"
The only person that was missing was Polly. Unfortunately, when Nicole contacted her, she didn't get a response. That made her worry - was everything fine with Polly? What kind of a question was that, anyway? Her other friend was a superb witch. She could handle anything.

"Yes, gorgeous. Sunglasses aren't as b*tchy"
"But darlin', that's what makes me so lovable," Desiree said, slipping off her sunglasses and gazing at Nicole with her brilliant-blue eyes and a slightly cocked head. "If I wasn't a b*tch, you'd never like me."
Desiree smirked lightly as Nicole waved the ugly sales assistant away, who seemed to think she was gorgeous because Nicole had said so. She gave Desiree that I'm-better-than-you look, even when Desiree knew that she was probably the most gorgeous girl on the block.
"I wasn't going to try on anything, sexy. I was simply browsing"
"You've got me addicted on Chanel sunglasses," Desiree commented, holding up her expensive pair. "You and Addy." She tossed back her golden hair and eyed Nicole again. "How is she anyway? How are you, in fact?"
She grinned as she continued, "I've just finished my Auror training. I'm an official Auror now, along with having just inherited the family manor from my parents. I was forced to share it with Rhi, but..."
Desiree let that trail off. Nicole and her shared a small dislike for Rhi, no matter how much they had changed over the years.

Nicole smirked as Desiree commented about how lovable she was. The girl was wearing Chanel sunglasses; something that Nicole had in her own wardrobe. Chanel was absolutely the only brand of sunglasses that managed to amaze her. The rest of the brands were just too boring.
"How is she anyway? How are you, in fact?"
The mention of her name made Nicole freeze. The girl went through a lot these past days. Heck, Nicole and Adriana weren't even on speaking terms. For a while, she hesitated to tell Desiree the truth. In the end, she knew it wouldn't hurt anyone. "Her mother was killed by a muggle - she's been through a lot"
"I'm just great. I've been borrowing Adriana's Mercedes for a while," she responded, nudging her thumb at the black car outside. "How are you? Have you heard from Polly?" she hastily asked after responding. She was rather glad to change the subject from Adriana.
"You f*cking b*tch. You're becoming an auror?" A wide grin appeared on Nicole's face; if that was true, she'd see Desiree daily. "I can't believe you didn't tell me earlier!" With that, she grabbed a pair of expensive-looking sunglasses of the rack and through them at Desiree. "God, I hate you. You tell me those things earlier - over the phone or in a letter. I could have gotten you something!"

Desiree watched Nicole struggle inside for a moment. Was she doing that bad? Was Addy doing that bad? Desi absolutely hated being in the shadows, not knowing what had happened to her friends. Rhi didn't help at all. And Desi was glad Nicole hadn't asked about her.
"Her mother was killed by a muggle - she's been through a lot"
"Holy cr*p - are you serious?" Desi exclaimed, her mouth falling open. That was terrible! Knowing how b*tchy Adriana already was, Desi knew she didn't need any more reasons to become even more so. "Um...Rhi works at St. Mungo's - do you think she could...you know...help?"
Desi hated bringing Rhi into the spotlight, since that was what Desi had got since she had been a little kid. But she had to give some to her sis for the things she had done.
"How are you? Have you heard from Polly?"
Skipping over the thing about Mercedes, Desi replied anxiously, "No I haven't. I've been worried. Considering there's rumours going on about psycho Salvatore becoming even more psycho."
She gave Nicole a meaningful look. If she was an Auror, she would know what Desi was talking about.
"You f*cking b*tch. You're becoming an auror?"
A dazzling grin flitted onto Desi's face.
"That's what I said, isn't it? It's brilliant - you're working there, Alex's working there - basically everyone I know is working there. Oh - and Aiden."
She fell silent at this. She couldn't forgive Aiden for just choosing Delilah over her like that. It still stung.
"I can't believe you didn't tell me earlier!" - "God, I hate you. You tell me those things earlier - over the phone or in a letter. I could have gotten you something!"
Desi snapped out of her moment of gloom and dodged the sunglasses.
"Hey! No ruining beautiful things like that, honey," she said, anxiously picking up the thrown pair and searching for a scratch.
"And there's no need to get me anything - it isn't my birthday," Desi retorted, playing dumb. Nicole could be such a drama queen/b*tch sometimes.

"B*tch, I honestly don't think that you could bring back a dead person back to life," Nicole replied in a sweet tone. "And, while we're speaking about that crazy b*tch, I think Adriana is thinking about joining here" That was in an even more hushed tone, so nobody else in the store could hear.
"And there's no need to get me anything - it isn't my birthday,"
"I thought you were used to getting the princess treatment," Nicole replied, watching as her friend examined the sunglasses. She just rolled her eyes as the freaky lady began to move toward the two. By the look on her face, she was going to kick Nicole out or just scold her.
"Young lady," Her voice was trembling. Obviously, she noticed that she had hairs over her lip in a nearby mirror. And, she believed that Nicole's compliment was a lie. "If those sunglasses are dented, you will have to pay for them. We do not tolerate vandalism in-"
"Okay, Jeez," Nicole interrupted her hastily and grabbed the sunglasses from Desiree. She stuck them up to the lady's face. "They're not dented, chill" Nicole quickly placed them back on the rack before Roberta could examine them. If they were dented, Nicole really didn't care.
