Right then guys and girlies, listen up, here are the rules!
Breaking any of these rules will get you a warning and/or banned so please pay attention to them!
General Guidelines:
The RP is set 10 years after the site Fresh Start (http://freshhogwarts.proboards91.com/index.cgi) but for new commers it is basically a roleplay set 29 or 30 years after the fall of Voldemort. Most if not all of our characters are adults now, though there can be teenagers if you wish, they just won't be at school as we have no Hogwarts. It is basically the side of HP we don't get to see as much. No school!
Applications for anyone with special powers or abilities will need to be approved before you use them in the roleplay.
RULES:
1. Respect Other Roleplayers. Please do not target specific people, it's fun to have in context enemies, but remember, we are not our characters so don't attack the people behind them.
2. No Controlling / god-moding
You have your own character, so please don't control others, unless you have their permission, in which case please say in the thread
3. Mary-Sues
A Mary-Sue is basically perfect. She might have any or all of these characteristics: beautiful, innocent, generous, cute, selfless, loyal, playful, trustworthy, sweet, adorable, modest, happy and kind. She can sing beautifully and dance amazingly. Remember, no one is like that! We have flaws people! FLAWS! So give your character them as well.
4. Killing Developments
If someone is trying to start something interesting in a roleplay please don't squash it.
e.g.
Mandy: What's that noise? It sounds creepy, shall we go find out what it aas?
Sarah: Oh it was just me humming
5. Sudden Leaving
If you've decided you're too busy to RP, or you're just bored, or for whatever reason you want to leave. Don't just disappear! The others in your role-play will probably wait for you, and if you never post you've killed the game. Also, your character is probably needed in the plot. What you should do is post saying you're sorry but you can't play anymore, and get your character out.
6. Gatecrashing
If someone has put specific names in the title of their thread e.g. Summer fun ((Sarah&Mandy)), don't just barge in and ruin it, sometimes they will put ((Sarah&Mandy&open)) in which case it is fine to join in.
7. Exclusion
If there are three people in a thread, don't ignore one of them and concentrate on jsut one, it doesn't matter if your character is going out with them/crushing on them/hates them, or anything, it shouldn't be done.
8 . Punctuation, spelling, grammar
Please try to keep it all standard English and legable, remember punctuation is our friend.
Remember the basics, full stops, CAPITAL LETTERS, commas, speech marks.
9. Swearing
This is a pretty lenient site seen as it our characters are adult, and lets face it, adults swear, but I don't want it over the top. It's not hard to asterix bits of the big ones out ,we still get your drift.
10.
You're allowed as many characters as you can handle, as long as you don't create a whole family and thing with one and then just abandon it for a new character as people may need the link with your old character.
Also when you make a new character please put the name of your main character, or first one, in brackets at the end of your new ones name. That would be much appreciated, it helps us to keep track of who is who.
10b. When making your account, please change your display name to the full name or your character not keep it something like 'hplover4life'
11. You must be approved before you roleplay.
